Compensation Range:
$130,000 to $150,000 or more depending upon initiative. 

Job Description:
To service the South Florida coastal market more effectively, Robinson Fendley Business Brokers needs to increase our professional sales staff. We are currently looking for Business Brokers in several locations in Southern Florida who are interested in "being their own boss". 

No experience necessary.  We prefer applicants who have not previously worked in business brokerage.

As a Robinson Fendley Business Broker, you will work to identify owners who wish to sell their businesses or commercial real estate, contract with those owners to list with Robinson Fendley, interview and qualify buyers to assist them in identifying investments that fit their goals, and help them through the process of negotiating offers and coordinating the transfer of ownership. For assisting business owners with selling their business we are paid a transaction fee, which is normally 12% of the purchase price and allows for a much greater income potential than traditional residential real estate. Do the math. With traditional residential real estate transaction fees spiraling downward toward 3% it is easy to see that the income potential of being a Business Broker is much greater than residential real estate. You will also have an opportunity to identify business owners or buyers who need SBA or commercial loans and be eligible to receive a commission on these services, too.

Job Requirements:

  • Florida real estate license or ability to obtain license prior to joining 

  • Knowledge of small businesses and issues faced by business owners 

  • Computer literate (Internet, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat) 

  • Internet access

  • Transportation 

  • Ability to attend monthly staff meetings in regional office. 

  • Flexible hours to meet customer needs

  • Good organizational and time management skills 

  • Sales experience or prior business ownership experience 

  • Bachelors degree, preferred 

  • Strong work ethic 

  • Sense of urgency when responding to customers 

  • Self motivated and capable of working independently 

  • Capable of analyzing Income Statements, Balance Sheets and other Financials (We will train you)

    In addition to the above requirements, the ability to relate to people and to sell is very important to your success. Knowledge of and interest in business in general is important. We prefer applicants who are previous business owners. CPA, CFO or bank lending background is a huge plus, although not a requirement. You must also be comfortable working in a commission only position that offers an above average income potential. 

Note: Business Broker positions are compensated on commissions only and due to the length of a sales cycle, it is normal to take 3 to 6 months before completing your first significant transaction. You must have sufficient cash reserves or other income sources to provide your day to day living expenses until you receive your first commission.
